more gestalt exploration
I found some new pictures for a couple of the gestalt forms, and I picked the ones that I liked and felt worked best.

gestalt
In order: 4 definitions for the various forms of gestalt, 12 photos, separated by gestalt form; 20 compositions, separated by gestalt form.

Continuance

Closure - the term given to the phenomena when the mind completes a missing series or image by using knowledge and observations already made.
Continuance - the nature of something to lead off the edge of a frame, causing the eye and reader to move with it.
Proximity - similar items grouped near each other have a relationship.
Similarity - items that share similar texture, shape, color, etc.
All of the photos were taken on my iPhone at some point.

My compositions were created in InDesign. I used brown butcher paper to cut out different shapes that I used to create each composition. I used Photoshop to convert everything, compositions and photos, to grayscale tifs.

gestalt work
Just some process on making the gestalt compositions and photo taking. I decided upon using 5 shapes to make compositions. They are just brown butcher paper shapes, each one roughly 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall, except for the rectangle - it's 8 inches tall - and triangle - it's about 2 inches tall.
The photos were all taken on my iPhone at some point in time, most of them this weekend during a moving experience. This one is of a sunset that happened a month ago, though.
There is one example of a composition using the shapes. Similar squares shows similarity. Go gestalt.
